Today the postman brought us a nice surprise : two copies of the Mighty Worms Strike Vol. IV compilation (limited edition of 500 copies). Mighty Worm is a french punk-rock association throwing gigs and producing discs for more than 7 years now. Every once in a while, the gang produces a compilation featuring highly skilled punk-rock and rock’n’roll bands from France. Since MWS Vol.II, IES is in charge of the visual artwork and the compilations graphic design. MWS Vol.IV is the first one to be released as a 12” vinyl disc… To be honest, as a 21^st century digital girl (!!), I don’t give a f**k about old school, retarded, analog recording media, but… Working on a 12” is something really cool from a graphic designer point of view, simply because your work is way much bigger ! For this one the developing team chose to illustrate the “Mighty Worms Strike” concept with a drawing directly inspired by one of the famous Godzilla movie poster (Godzilla vs. the Thing — the american release version of Godzilla vs. Mothra — 1964).
