Richard III Posters

Dear Diary,

I always thought that theatre was like cross-words : a boring past-time for pretentious and self-called intellectual old-timers… It costs me a lot but I have to admit I was wrong… Kids, theatre can be fun ! This awful truth stroke me when IES was asked by a good friend of mine (who turned out to be an actress during her spare times) to produce a series of 8 portraits to illustrate a modern, “Dexter-like” version of Shakespeare’s master piece : Richard III. The backer of theproject was Companie des 3 Arènes. Besides the 8 portraits supposed to serve as stage backgrounds, the two main characters’ portraits were released in a limited series of 30 copies silk-screen printed posters (produced by our friends from Allover). The première of the show happened during the International Shakespeare Festival of Tournon in July 2009. After that, the piece, (and its IES-produced background) has been played in several places in France and even abroad. If you, Shakespeare nerd, are interested by the posters, contact us !
